STB: Sustainable design and community focus
The revamped VIC aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 11, promoting green public spaces and responsible tourism practices.
The surrounding gardens have been restored, creating a vibrant space not just for visitors but also for the local community.
Open for community activities like music and heritage showcases, the park celebrates Miri’s diverse tapestry.
A standout addition is the magnificent Sape Sculpture, a 3.2-meter tall structure that pays homage to Sarawak’s iconic stringed instrument.
This unique landmark adds cultural character to both the garden and the city of Miri.
The upgraded VIC caters to the growing number of tourists visiting Miri, the entry point to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Gunung Mulu National Park.
