Prof. Datin Paduka Dr. Samsinar Md Sidin powerfully conveyed UniRazak’s collaborative spirit during her closing remarks.
“As a private university, working together with the unwavering support of the government, we can advance further in Malaysian education,” she stated.
This message resonated with the audience, highlighting UniRazak’s dedication to working alongside the government for the betterment of Malaysian education.
Summit highlights government’s focus on education
The 2024 Malaysia Education and Learning Summit served as a platform for exploring the future of education in the country. Underscoring the government’s commitment to educational advancement,
Datuk Seri Mohamed Iqbal Rawther highlighted the allocation of RM58.5 billion for the national education sector, the highest level of funding ever committed.
Notably, a significant portion (RM16.3 billion) will be directed towards higher education.
The Ministry of Education, represented by Deputy Minister Wong Kah Woh, emphasised a core focus on guaranteeing equal educational opportunities for all Malaysians.
He outlined a vision for the future of Technical and Vocational Education (TVET) programmes, stating, “We don’t want TVET education to be seen as a secondary option.
We want it to be part of the mainstream, where students can make informed choices based on their aspirations.”
The government’s prioritization of TVET development is reflected in the allocation of an additional RM6.8 billion to strengthen this crucial area.
This investment aims to ensure graduates possess the in-demand skills needed to succeed in today’s dynamic job market.
Demonstrating its commitment to innovation and educational integration, UniRazak established its own TVET Accredited Centre (Pusat Bertauliah) in 2023.
The centre offers a diverse range of Diploma in Malaysian Skills (DKM4) programmes, catering to fields such as Early Childhood Care & Development Supervision, Administrative Management, Preschool Education, and Computer System Administration.
It also provides Malaysian Skills Certificates (SKM3) programmes in Graphic Design (Digital) and Interactive Media Design, providing students with valuable skills and the added benefit of monthly allowances.
UniRazak’s participation and recognition at the 2024 Education and Learning Summit solidify its position as a leader in Malaysian education, fostering innovation, collaboration, and equal access to quality education for all.
