Batik Air has unveiled a new unbundled baggage fare structure for domestic and ASEAN routes.
This revised system, effective for bookings made on or after May 1st, 2024, with travel dates starting from June 1st, offers passengers greater flexibility and cost savings.
Super saver economy class: Travel light, pay less
The new fare structure introduces the “Super Saver Economy Class” option.
This fare allows passengers to choose to travel entirely without check-in baggage, resulting in a lower ticket price.
Passengers opting for this option can still bring a carry-on bag that adheres to Batik Air’s size and weight restrictions.
For passengers who require checked baggage, Batik Air offers pre-purchase options at a discounted rate during the booking process on their website.
Alternatively, passengers can purchase baggage allowance at standard rates at the airport check-in counter.
Batik Air catering to diverse travel needs
Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy, Chief Executive Officer of Batik Air, commented on the changes: “We recognise the evolving needs of travellers, particularly on short-haul domestic and ASEAN routes.
This revision offers increased flexibility for those who prefer to travel light and benefit from lower fares.”
He further emphasised, “The pre-purchase baggage options allow travellers to tailor their travel plans and manage their choices during booking, making Batik Air a more affordable option for the savvy traveller.”
Passengers who prefer a traditional fare structure with included baggage allowance can still choose from existing Economy Class options.
The Economy Class Value fare includes a 10kg baggage allowance, while the Economy Class Flexi fare offers a 20kg allowance.
Batik Air remains committed to offering an exceptional travel experience for its passengers.
By implementing these changes and continuously engaging with customers, the airline aims to adapt to the evolving needs and preferences within the aviation industry.
