The inscription “A Dark Moment in Football, That Unites Us Together We Are Faisal Halim” resonated with fans of all ages.

Many took photos with the mural, a gesture of unwavering support for the injured footballer.

The mural, created by artist Dhiyaul Mohamad Ashraf Dawari (known as Yaulacap), took just two days to complete before the Super League match.

“I took on the job of painting Faisal Halim’s mural as a sign of solidarity with the incident that befell him,” Yaulacap explained to Harian Metro.

“This offer came from Selangor FC,” he added.

A brutal attack and community’s response

On May 5th, Halim’s life took a tragic turn when he was attacked with acid at a shopping mall in Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya.

The attack resulted in fourth-degree burns on his neck, shoulder, hands, and chest.

Thankfully, there have been positive developments, with Halim being moved from intensive care to a regular ward, a testament to his fighting spirit.

The news of the attack sent shockwaves through the Malaysian football community. Fans, players, and officials alike expressed their outrage and concern for Halim’s well-being.

Beyond the mural, Selangor FC launched a dedicated solidarity campaign for Halim. Messages of support now adorn static and electronic billboards managed by local authorities.
