Tune Protect Group Berhad, in collaboration with Nourish Malaysia, launched a sports and digital-focused initiative at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampung Baru Si Rusa in Port Dickson.
This initiative is part of Tune Protect’s Corporate Good (CG) Programme, reflecting their commitment to community support and development.
Upgrading digital and sports facilities
Since October last year, Tune Protect has been planning to donate laptops and personal computers.
They also plan to provide sports equipment such as a long jump pit and refurbish the digital resource centre at SK Kg Baru Si Rusa. On 18 May and 25 May 2024, 80 volunteers from Tune Protect worked alongside teachers and students, supported by Nourish Malaysia.
“As Malaysia’s homegrown digital insurer, we aim to help Malaysians, particularly the underprivileged, become digitally savvy,” said How Kim Lian, Tune Protect Group’s Chief Financial Officer.
“This initiative aims to produce a generation proficient in digital skills and boost future athletes.”
Tune Protect commitment to community support
The CG programme highlights Tune Protect’s dedication to supporting unserved, underserved, and underprivileged groups.
SK Kg Baru Si Rusa, with 799 students, has more than 65% from the B40 category. Tune Protect’s efforts aim to enhance learning and sports activities, bringing joy and comfort to both teachers and students.
“We are proud to announce that we have exceeded our CG commitment, achieving 6,954 volunteer hours from 2022 to date,” added How.
“This achievement highlights our ongoing dedication to making a positive impact in the community.”
Tune Protect’s future initiatives and engagements
Tune Protect’s volunteers have participated in activities such as painting the digital resource centre and installing vinyl tiles.
They also conducted community clean-ups, painted murals, improved the school field area, and organised items.
These efforts are part of a broader goal to improve the school’s infrastructure and foster a better learning environment.
Tune Protect plans to organise sports clinics for school athletes in collaboration with a university’s sports faculty.
Additionally, the staff will conduct cyber security talks for Year 5 and 6 students, focusing on basic internet navigation and cyber security.
These activities are scheduled from the end of July until December 2024.
Tune Protect’s dedication to enhancing educational and sports facilities for underprivileged students shows their commitment to improving the quality of life for all Malaysians.
