TransNusa is set to make history as the first airline to offer scheduled international flights from Subang Airport, also known as Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (SAAS) Airport, to Jakarta.
Starting July 15, tickets are available for purchase on TransNusa’s official website and major online ticketing platforms, with prices starting at RM299 one-way.
TransNusa new flight route: Subang to Jakarta
From 1 August, TransNusa will begin operating daily flights from Subang Airport to Terminal 3 at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta.
The airline’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Bernard Francis, expressed his enthusiasm for this milestone.
“I’m thankful for the opportunity to be the first foreign airline to start scheduled jet aircraft operations for an international route from Subang Airport,” Bernard said in a statement.
Flight 8B698 will depart Subang Airport at 7:30pm and arrive in Jakarta at 8:30pm. Meanwhile, the return flight, 8B699, will leave Jakarta at 4:10pm and arrive at Subang Airport at 7:00pm.
Commitment to enhanced services
Bernard emphasised that this new route demonstrates TransNusa’s dedication to improving aviation services.
“As a Malaysian, I’m proud to launch a series of new daily scheduled flights from Subang Airport and play a part in making history with the Subang Airport team,” he added.
TransNusa will initially operate the Subang-Jakarta route using an Airbus A320, providing passengers with a reliable and comfortable travel experience.
This development is part of TransNusa’s broader expansion strategy, which already includes three daily flights from Jakarta to Kuala Lumpur International Airport and four weekly flights from Jakarta to Johor Bahru.
For passengers, this new route offers a convenient and cost-effective option for travel between Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta.
The competitive pricing and strategic scheduling make it an attractive choice for both business and leisure travellers.
Apart from TransNusa, Singapore’s budget carrier Scoot also expected to launch services soon. This expansion is poised to enhance Subang Airport’s status as a key international travel hub.
