The Love Penang Family Carnival transformed the open field at the Esplanade into a bustling hub of activities today.

This inaugural event, organised by the Penang Community Harmony Care Association (PCHCA), attracted 500 families from various backgrounds, engaging 1,000 children in a day filled with fun and community spirit.

A day of fun and community spirit

The Love Penang Family Carnival featured a variety of activities designed to entertain and unite families.

From puzzle games and recreational activities to a historic tea ceremony, the event provided a platform for families to bond and enjoy a day out together.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, the guest of honour, praised the Penang community’s dedication to social responsibility and public service.

“This carnival represents an opportunity for every Penangite to immerse themselves in the spirit of the Penang2030 vision,” Chow said.

“Our vision highlights the importance of family. We believe that change starts not only from the grassroots but within the family itself.

Community-building, a core pillar of our vision, requires families to understand the importance of living as one community rather than in silos.”

Supporting the Penang2030 vision

Chow also emphasised the significance of the Penang2030 vision’s Theme C, which focuses on empowering people to strengthen civic participation.

He noted that community involvement in programmes has increased by 50% through both online and physical platforms before 2030.

“I strongly believe that this event will contribute further to realising this vision,” he added.

The carnival was not just about games and activities; it also included 32 booths selling food and beverages and hosting various games, offering something for everyone.
