The Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) solidified its reputation as Malaysia’s Premier Digital Tech University at the Private Education Excellence Awards 2024, where it clinched two prestigious awards.
Held on 1st August 2024 at the Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur, the event celebrated APU’s commitment to academic excellence and its pioneering role in technology and innovation.
APU shines in Computing and Technology
APU received the Outstanding Institutional Award for Computing and Technology Programmes, affirming its leadership in digital tech education.
Known for its innovative curriculum that blends technology, creativity, and innovation, APU continues to set the benchmark for tech-related programmes in Malaysia.
“Our faculty members are the driving force behind our success,” said APU’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr Ho Chin Kuan, upon receiving the award.
“This recognition further testifies to their dedication in transforming students into highly employable professionals.”
APU’s dedication to excellence is reflected in its consistent ranking as the No. 1 university for international students in Malaysia and No. 16 globally in the QS World University Rankings 2025.
Leading in graduate employability
APU’s success extends beyond academics, as it was also named the Best University for Graduate Employability.
The university’s remarkable track record of 100% employability among its graduates is a testament to its effective approach to education, which prepares students for the global job market.
During the award ceremony, Professor Ho highlighted the collective responsibility of educators to shape the minds and hearts of future generations.
“The awards remind us of our collective efforts to provide the best education, helping individuals achieve their dreams and passions,” he remarked.
The Private Education Excellence Awards, organised by the Private Education Co-Operative of Malaysia (EDUCOOP), are the only awards in Malaysia that recognise individual academics and educators in the private sector.
Now in its ninth year, the event featured a range of Institutional Awards and Outstanding Individual Awards, celebrating the achievements of educators across various categories.
In addition to APU’s institutional accolades, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Ts Dr Murali Raman was appointed as a Board Member of EDUCOOP, acknowledging his significant contributions to Malaysia’s private education sector.
Professor Murali expressed his gratitude, saying, “I am honoured to serve and contribute further to the growth and development of private education in Malaysia.”
The event was attended by APU’s senior leadership team, including Heads of Schools and key faculty members, who have all played crucial roles in advancing the university’s mission of providing world-class education.
As APU continues to lead in digital tech education, its achievements at this year’s awards are a testament to its ongoing dedication to shaping the future of education in Malaysia and beyond.
