The Ipoh City Council (MBI) has announced plans to address traffic congestion and safety concerns in Taman Perak, specifically at Jalan Perajurit and surrounding areas.

This proposal comes in response to complaints from residents about frequent accidents and traffic jams during peak hours, as well as difficulties in entering and exiting residential areas.

To improve traffic flow and safety, MBI is proposing the installation of traffic lights at the Jalan Perajurit intersection.

In addition, the council is considering converting several streets into one-way routes, including Off Jalan Perajurit, parts of Lebuh 2, Lintasan Perajurit 6, and Persiaran Perajurit 6.

These changes aim to reduce the number of accidents and make it easier for vehicles to navigate the area.

The proposed traffic alignment is also expected to alleviate parking issues near the local shop houses. The plan includes creating 50 additional parking spaces to accommodate the needs of residents and visitors.

These plans were discussed in a townhall session held this morning at Jalan Perajurit, attended by local residents and key officials, including City Secretary Ahmad Munir bin Ishak.

The proposed changes are still under consideration, and the council has sought feedback from residents during a recent town hall session.
