Prince Court launches first electric motorcycle ambulance

Prince Court Medical Centre, with First Ambulance, launches Malaysia’s first electric motorcycle ambulance, enhancing emergency care in congested areas.

Prince Court Medical Centre, in partnership with First Ambulance, has unveiled Malaysia’s first electric motorcycle ambulance, marking a significant leap in emergency medical care. This innovative service is part of the hospital’s First Responder Service, designed to ensure faster medical assistance in emergencies, especially in traffic-heavy areas where conventional ambulances might face delays. The electric motorcycle ambulance is a testament to Prince Court’s dedication to improving healthcare accessibility and efficiency.

This initiative is set to address the critical challenge of response times in congested urban areas. The motorcycle ambulance, equipped with essential medical supplies, allows paramedics to reach patients swiftly, providing immediate care until a conventional ambulance arrives. This capability is particularly vital in life-threatening situations where every second counts. The initiative underscores the hospital’s proactive approach to enhancing emergency care and its commitment to saving lives.

Commitment to community well-being

Beyond the technological advancement, Prince Court’s dedication to the well-being of the community is evident in its decision to offer free ambulance services within a 10-kilometre radius of the hospital in Kuala Lumpur. This initiative ensures that residents within this area have access to timely and potentially life-saving medical assistance without the burden of cost. According to Dr. Shuba Srinivasan, Chief Executive Officer of Prince Court Medical Centre, the launch of the electric motorcycle ambulance is a step forward in setting new standards in emergency response.

“At Prince Court, our commitment to patient care and emergency response drives us to continuously set new standards. The launch of our electric motorcycle ambulance represents a significant step forward in delivering faster, more efficient medical assistance,” Dr. Shuba said. This sentiment was echoed by Steven Penafort, Managing Director of First Ambulance, who praised the partnership as a crucial step towards improving patient care through faster, more effective interventions.

Innovative collaborations for enhanced safety

In addition to the electric motorcycle ambulance, Prince Court has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Orion Residence, a new property development located off Jalan Bukit Bintang in Kuala Lumpur. This collaboration introduces an integrated panic button within Orion Residence that connects directly to Prince Court’s ambulance service. This system enhances the safety and security of residents by ensuring that emergency medical assistance is just a button press away.
