Nestlé Omega Plus has kicked off its annual Walk A Million Miles (WAMM) 2024 campaign, marking World Heart Month with a strong message to promote heart health.
With over 2000 participants gathering for a 3.5 km walk at Taman Tasik Metropolitan in Kepong, the event highlights the brand’s commitment to encouraging Malaysians to adopt a healthier, more active lifestyle.
The fight against heart disease with Nestlé Omega Plus
Nestlé Omega Plus, Malaysia’s leading heart health advocate, continues to emphasize the importance of preventing heart disease early on.
According to recent statistics, 1 in 3 adults in Malaysia suffers from high cholesterol, with half of them unaware of their condition.
This silent issue often remains undetected until it’s too late, which is why Nestlé Omega Plus is urging Malaysians to be proactive in managing their cholesterol levels.
“Simple lifestyle changes, such as adopting a balanced diet, regular exercise, and consuming two glasses of Nestlé Omega Plus daily, can make a significant difference in heart health,” said Juan Aranols, Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad.
Nestlé Omega Plus is the only milk in Malaysia that contains ActiCol®, a plant sterol scientifically proven to help lower cholesterol by blocking its absorption into the bloodstream.
By integrating this product into daily routines, individuals can take effective steps toward reducing cholesterol and improving heart health.
Nestlé Omega Plus Walk A Million Miles: A call to action
The Walk A Million Miles (WAMM) initiative returns to its roots with a physical event, where walking serves as a powerful tool for heart health.
Walking is a simple yet effective way to prevent heart disease, and the WAMM campaign underscores the importance of regular exercise in maintaining a healthy heart.
“We need to increase awareness about heart health and healthy lifestyle practices,” said Aranols. “Our aim is to rally even more Malaysians to take charge of their heart health.
Today’s turnout reflects the growing commitment among Malaysians to embrace healthier lifestyles.”
Beyond the walk, Nestlé Omega Plus is supporting heart health efforts by donating RM100,000 to Yayasan Jantung Malaysia (YJM) and the Institut Jantung Negara Foundation (IJNF), continuing its dedication to heart health advocacy.
As the campaign runs throughout September, Malaysians are encouraged to register for the Nestlé Omega Plus WAMM through the BookDoc mobile app.
Participants can log their miles, win exciting prizes, and enjoy e-entitlements. For a RM30 paid option, participants receive a limited-edition Nestlé Omega Plus jersey and have the chance to win even more rewards by reaching milestone step counts.
Yeoh She Shiang, Business Executive Officer of Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad, further emphasized the importance of daily actions.
“Just a brisk 20-minute walk, five times a week, combined with a balanced diet and two servings of Nestlé Omega Plus daily, can positively impact cholesterol levels and overall well-being.”
Whether through walking, dietary changes, or regular cholesterol checks, Nestlé Omega Plus remains a proactive partner in Malaysia’s heart health journey.
