Leia Mayssa becomes SEA’s first Math Beyond Limits participant

Leia Mayssa, a 17-year-old prodigy from Malaysia, has made history as the first Southeast Asian selected to participate in the prestigious Math Beyond Limits (MBL) camp in Rycerka Dolna, Poland. Sponsored by Yayasan Pelajaran MARA, Leia joins 62 other top young mathematicians from around the world for a two-week intensive camp, placing Malaysia firmly on the global map of mathematical excellence.

Her journey wasn’t without its challenges. “I took these competitions lightly initially,” Leia shared during an interview with Sri KDU Schools. “but eventually adopted a mindset of doing my best rather than just winning.” This mindset has been key to her success, driving her through rigorous study sessions, late nights of problem-solving, and countless practice rounds to achieve her goals.
