Over 2,000 fans gathered at Sentul Depot for an unforgettable evening of football, camaraderie, and exclusive prizes as Guinness Malaysia, the Official Beer of the Premier League, held its Guinness Matchday event on Saturday.
The night reached a thrilling peak as Gregory Isaac was announced as the first Grand Prize winner, securing an all-expenses-paid trip to watch a Premier League match in England in April 2025.
A night of football fever
The excitement in the air was undeniable, with fans bonding over their shared passion for football and Guinness. The event saw attendees participate in various football-themed activities, competing for prizes such as signed jerseys from football legends, customisable Guinness jerseys, complimentary pints, and other limited-edition merchandise. As the night progressed, the football fever was further intensified with live screenings of two Premier League matches, broadcast on a massive 8m x 14m screen.
Shaun Lim, Marketing Manager of Wheat Beer, Stout, and Diageo Brands at Heineken Malaysia Berhad, summed up the spirit of the event, saying, “Guinness Matchday is more than just football—it’s about bringing people together through shared passions. Whether you’re a football fanatic or a Guinness lover, it’s a celebration of the perfect blend of the beautiful game and the perfect pint.”
Guinness-infused culinary delights
The celebration wasn’t limited to just football, as the culinary scene played a significant role in the immersive experience. The tantalising aroma of Guinness-infused dishes filled the air, thanks to the culinary expertise of chefs from Kitchen Mafia, Tipsy Boar, Kao BBQ, Yat Sing, and Caketella. Fans indulged in these unique creations, which captured the bold and distinct flavours of Guinness.
Lim also noted the importance of the event as a reflection of the brand’s core values: “Guinness is always looking for new and exciting ways to bring our brand values of power, goodness, and communion to life in an engaging and immersive way. Our season-long Guinness x Premier League celebration is the perfect occasion for fans to come together for an authentic Guinness experience and create unforgettable memories.”
More excitement in store
For those who missed out on the first Grand Prize, the excitement is far from over. Two more winners will be selected before the Premier League season ends, giving fans more chances to score an unforgettable experience. Guinness Viewing Parties will be held at various bars and pubs across Malaysia, offering attendees opportunities to win exclusive prizes and indulge in the football fever.
