BIG CARiNG launches “Ribbon of Hope” support program

BIG CARiNG Group recently introduced its groundbreaking Ribbon of Hope Cancer CARE Program at the Health & Beauty Expo in Mid Valley Southkey, dedicated to assisting cancer patients and their caregivers.

This innovative program aims to offer holistic support to those impacted by cancer, addressing the need for accessible, affordable care across Malaysia.

With initiatives tailored to ease the cancer journey, Ribbon of Hope is available at select BIG Pharmacy and CARiNG Pharmacy locations nationwide.

The program, organised around four essential pillars (Counselling, Affordable Medications & Services, Rehabilitation, and Early Detection), is a lifeline for both patients and caregivers, enhancing their access to critical resources and guidance throughout treatment.

Four pillars of support: The “Ribbon of Hope” CARE program

The Ribbon of Hope Cancer CARE Program focuses on four pillars to provide well-rounded support for those facing cancer.

The first, Counselling, connects patients with healthcare professionals who offer counselling, helping individuals and families navigate the emotional and logistical aspects of cancer treatment.

Through Affordable Medications & Accessible Services, the program prioritises cost-effective access to medications and services, ensuring they address the unique needs of cancer patients.

This initiative aims to eliminate financial barriers that often prevent people from receiving adequate treatment.

The third pillar, Rehabilitation and Recovery Resources, provides medical and rehabilitation equipment, supporting a smooth transition from hospital to home.

This ensures patients receive the necessary resources to regain their independence during recovery.

Lastly, Early Detection & Risk Reduction promotes proactive healthcare through educational programs, awareness campaigns, and cancer screenings.

Collaborating for greater impact in cancer care

At the program’s launch, Dr. Jason Chin Yu Aun, a representative of the National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM), emphasised the importance of partnerships like the one between NCSM and BIG CARiNG Group.

He highlighted the vital role of public awareness, preventive screenings, and accessible support networks in combating cancer effectively.

The event also featured the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between BIG CARiNG Group and NCSM.

This formal collaboration strengthens their joint efforts to enhance early detection initiatives and provide supportive care across the country.

During the Health & Beauty Expo, BIG CARiNG Group and NCSM conducted free health screenings, including HPV vaccinations, clinical breast exams, prostate-specific antigen tests, and hepatitis screenings.

This outreach aims to foster proactive healthcare, making vital screenings and consultations accessible to the Johor community.

In a further show of support, BIG CARiNG Group donated RM20,000 to the Tunku Laksamana Johor Cancer Foundation, along with RM10,000 in vouchers, symbolising its commitment to supporting the cancer community.
