DC Electronics expands in Penang with major new facility

DC Electronics unveils a new, larger facility in Simpang Ampat, marking a major growth milestone for the cable assembly and wire harness manufacturer.

DC Electronics (ADCE), a subsidiary of global interconnect leader Amphenol, has opened a new facility in Simpang Ampat, Penang.

This expansion, just 15km from its former location, quadruples the company’s space in Malaysia, underscoring its growth as a leading provider of custom cable assemblies and wire harnesses for diverse industries.

New facility boosts ADCE’s production capacity

This RM150 million facility has expanded ADCE’s production capacity fourfold since operations moved from its former location.

Founded in 1979, ADCE specialises in designing and manufacturing custom wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and integrated electronic mechanical devices.

Acquired by Amphenol in 2013, the company’s growth in Penang reflects its strategic commitment to expanding in Southeast Asia.

Amphenol Malaysia Director Datuk Seri Lee Teong Li highlighted Penang’s central role in the company’s regional expansion, saying, “Amphenol first entered Malaysia in 2005, and we now employ 1,500 people across the country, including in Johor Bahru.”
