Generali Insurance Malaysia Bhd has brought Italy to Malaysia with its inaugural Festival Del Leone, a celebration of Italian culture, cuisine, and community.
The festival, hosted by Generali, featured nearly 150 booths highlighting the best of Italian and local small and medium enterprises (SMEs), from food stalls and coffee stands to arts and crafts displays.
The event underscores Generali’s commitment to promoting local businesses and creating enriching community experiences.
Supporting Malaysian entrepreneurs through Italian flair
Festival Del Leone, held over the weekend, provided a vibrant platform for local SMEs to showcase their products while embracing Italian traditions.
From artisanal crafts to Italian culinary favourites, attendees enjoyed a unique cross-cultural experience.
Generali Malaysia’s CEO and Generali Entities Country Head Fabrice Benard said, “Festival Del Leone brings a piece of Italy to Malaysia and supports our local community, artists, and entrepreneurs.
This event reflects our commitment to being a trusted Lifetime Partner, engaging with the community, and creating meaningful experiences.”
Generali highlighted that the festival reinforces its dedication to fostering the growth of Malaysian entrepreneurs.
“Supporting SMEs is at the heart of Generali’s mission to empower local talent and promote economic growth,” the company added.
Family activities and opportunities to win big
Festival Del Leone offered a variety of family-friendly activities and unique experiences for all ages.
Children enjoyed pizza and pasta workshops, a Venetian mask-painting activity, and an espresso and latte art workshop for coffee enthusiasts.
Attendees also had a chance to meet Leo the Lion, Generali’s brand mascot, adding a playful touch to the event.
A highlight of the festival was a Mona Lisa-themed art sale, showcasing 30 local artists’ interpretations of the iconic painting.
Generali pledged that proceeds from this art sale would go to Yayasan Generali Gemilang, the company’s charitable foundation dedicated to bridging the education gap for underserved families and children in Malaysia.
Adding an element of excitement, Generali hosted a contest where festival-goers could win two return tickets to Italy, covered by Generali’s travel insurance, giving one lucky winner the chance to experience Italy firsthand.
In addition to cultural and culinary experiences, Festival Del Leone encouraged community wellness by partnering with the National Cancer Society Malaysia.
Generali offered free health screenings, including blood pressure and BMI checks, and provided a breast cancer awareness demonstration in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
These wellness initiatives are part of Generali’s broader commitment to enhancing public health awareness and supporting wellness within the community.
Festival Del Leone showcased Generali’s dedication to building community connections and supporting local entrepreneurship, offering an enriching experience that reflects the company’s mission.
