In anticipation of Visit Malaysia Year 2026, RapidKL has introduced the MyTourist Pass, providing tourists with seamless access to public transport across Kuala Lumpur.

Launched at the RapidKL Festival at Raintree Plaza TRX, the MyTourist Pass aims to support the nation’s goal of attracting 26.1 million foreign visitors by next year.

This initiative also encourages sustainable tourism by promoting public transportation over private vehicles.

The MyTourist Pass offers unlimited travel on RapidKL’s network, which includes trains and buses, for one to three days.

Priced at RM20 to RM40 for Malaysians and RM40 to RM60 for international visitors, the pass includes significant discounts at top attractions, such as Petrosains, the Petronas Twin Towers, Sunway Lagoon, and Menara Kuala Lumpur.

Through strategic partnerships, pass holders can also enjoy discounts at over 30 restaurants and shopping centres across the city.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof commended Prasarana’s initiative as a timely boost for Malaysia’s tourism industry.

“The tourism sector is vital for our economy, and the MyTourist Pass will help draw more visitors. It also promotes a more sustainable way for tourists to explore the city,” he said.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke highlighted the MyTourist Pass as part of Malaysia’s broader effort to encourage public transport use among tourists.

“Our goal is to make Kuala Lumpur a more accessible and tourist-friendly city by expanding public transport options,” he stated.

Loke noted that the pass includes collaborations with major attractions and provides great value for tourists exploring the city.

The RapidKL Festival also featured exhibits on Prasarana’s contributions to public transport over the past 20 years, showcasing the transformation of RapidKL’s services and infrastructure.

A special exhibit highlighted upcoming projects, such as the Shah Alam LRT3 line and the MRT3 Public Inspection booth, while career booths provided information on job opportunities within the Prasarana Group.

RapidKL chairman Tan Sri Jamaludin Ibrahim pointed out that the festival celebrates two decades of RapidKL’s impact on urban mobility, noting that the company currently facilitates over 1.25 million journeys daily in the Klang Valley.

“RapidKL plays an integral role in our urban community, supporting the daily journeys of countless residents and visitors alike,” he said.

Prasarana’s CEO, Mohd Azharuddin Mat Sah, emphasised the importance of RapidKL’s continued commitment to service.

“Our journey highlights our dedication to improving public transport for city dwellers and tourists,” Azharuddin said.

The RapidKL Festival promises an interactive experience, with live music and cultural activities adding to the festive atmosphere.
