Combi launches CrossAge 360 for enhanced child safety

Combi Malaysia unveils CrossAge 360 car seat, enhancing child safety with 360° rotation and meeting European standards, amid rising road safety concerns.

A recent report by the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) has highlighted a pressing issue in child passenger safety. According to the study, children transported in private vehicles are among the most vulnerable groups on Malaysian roads, with 43.8% of casualties among children aged 1 to 4 and 30.2% among those aged 5 to 9. In response to the rising number of child fatalities in road accidents, Malaysia’s Ministry of Transport has updated its Road Transport Act 1978, mandating that children under 36 kg, shorter than 135 cm, or younger than 10 years old must use Child Restraint Systems (CRS) when traveling in cars.

In light of these findings, Combi Malaysia has launched its latest innovation, the CrossAge 360 car seat, specifically designed to support child safety and reduce road accident injuries. Eris Chew, representing Combi Malaysia, emphasized the urgency of adopting CRS for children, saying, “Although the Ministry is still evaluating mandatory child seat use, we strongly encourage parents to adopt Child Restraint Systems now. CRS has proven effective in reducing both injury severity and the risk of fatality for children during accidents.”

Innovative design

The newly launched CrossAge 360 car seat was introduced during an event at Combi Malaysia’s flagship store at Mid Valley Megamall. Designed to protect children from birth up to 10 years old, the CrossAge 360 car seat meets the latest European Standard No. R129, providing parents with a reliable and certified child safety solution. This car seat is equipped with advanced features, including a 360° rotating base and a one-hand swivel operation for easier handling, enabling parents to effortlessly secure their child.

Chew shared Combi Malaysia’s commitment to accessibility, saying, “At Combi Malaysia, we’re committed to bridging this gap by raising awareness and providing accessible, certified safety solutions that families can rely on.” With a focus on affordability and awareness, Combi Malaysia aims to make child safety accessible to more Malaysian families by providing user-friendly and high-quality CRS options.
