Kuala Lumpur-based Vision AI developer Tapway Sdn. Bhd. and Tokyo’s Asteria Corporation have joined forces to launch the AIoT Suite, a cutting-edge platform that integrates Tapway’s SamurAI Vision AI software with Asteria’s Gravio no-code IoT software. This subscription-based suite is poised to transform manufacturing by automating tasks such as quality inspection, PPE compliance monitoring, and health, safety, and environment (HSE) oversight in warehouses.
Designed to tackle labor shortages and boost operational efficiency, the platform uses Vision AI to detect issues in real-time through camera systems and then triggers immediate responses via IoT devices—eliminating the need for coding expertise.
Meeting regional and global needs
The AIoT Suite has been tailored for both Japanese and Southeast Asian markets, with the English version launched in July 2024 and the Japanese version introduced on November 27, 2024, in Tokyo. Its capabilities include creating AI inference models and integrating seamlessly with existing systems and devices.
Lim Chee How, CEO of Tapway, emphasized the significance of the platform, saying, “Many manufacturers struggle to effectively analyze data derived from various systems and devices, and develop in-house AI models due to limited technical expertise and the high costs of maintaining dedicated monitoring staff. AIoT Suite helps them face these challenges head-on, on a single platform.”
Driving innovation in manufacturing
The partnership reflects the growing demand for accessible AI/IoT solutions in the manufacturing industry. Yoichiro Hirano, President and CEO of Asteria, shared his enthusiasm: “I am thrilled to announce the launch of the Japanese version of AIoT Suite in collaboration with Tapway. With its proven success in Southeast Asia, I am confident that AIoT Suite will address countless challenges for users in the Japanese market and set a new benchmark for AI and IoT combination solutions. At Asteria, we are committed to partnering with Tapway to continuously drive innovation and unlock the value of AI and IoT with the no-code and edge computing domains.”
The companies aim to achieve sales of 100 million yen within two years, targeting markets in Japan and beyond. Customers interested in the AIoT Suite can access it through Asteria’s Gravio product website, where they can explore its potential for enhancing industrial automation and efficiency.
