Port Dickson schools shine at the 2024 Kids Athletic Carnival

Tune Protect hosted the 2024 Kids Athletic Carnival in Port Dickson, fostering teamwork and resilience among young athletes from seven schools.

Tune Protect Group Berhad (“Tune Protect”) showcased its commitment to corporate social responsibility by collaborating with Sekolah Kebangsaan (“SK”) Kampung Baru Si Rusa to host the 2024 Kids Athletic Carnival. The event, held in Port Dickson, united students from seven schools, fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, and resilience. This vibrant celebration aimed to nurture young talent and promote holistic development through engaging athletic activities.

SK Kampung Baru Si Rusa, selected by the Port Dickson District Education Office for its achievements in national and state-level championships, served as an ideal venue. Tune Protect’s partnership with the school began in October 2023, with the group actively improving the school’s facilities and resources to support student excellence.

Over the past year, Tune Protect has enhanced SK Kampung Baru Si Rusa’s infrastructure, demonstrating a deep commitment to empowering youth. The contributions included providing laptops, personal computers, and sports equipment such as a long jump pit. The group also refurbished the school’s digital resource centre, painted murals, upgraded the school field, and conducted community clean-ups.

From equipping the school with resources and enhancing their sports facilities to facilitating educational visits, our commitment has been about enabling their potential,” said Koot Chiew Ling, Tune Protect Chief Strategy Officer and Chairperson of the Sustainability Committee.

Exciting Events and Vibrant Participation

The carnival featured an array of athletic activities designed to challenge and inspire young participants. From sprinting and hurdles relays to kids javelin throw and endurance runs, each event encouraged technical skills and personal growth. The cheerful atmosphere, buoyed by the support of peers, teachers, parents, and Tune Protect volunteers, highlighted the community’s strong spirit.

The event culminated in a prize-giving ceremony where students received medals and certificates for their outstanding performances. Tune Protect volunteers, numbering 20, played an integral role in ensuring the event’s success by assisting with logistics and activity management.
