“It matches local payment preferences, ensuring a frictionless, secure experience.”

The system streamlines transactions. Users choose Google Pay or “eWallet” at checkout, paying directly without switching apps.

A one-time verification ensures security for first-time payments, enabling one-click transactions thereafter. Fingerprint or PIN verification safeguards every purchase.

Google Pay also allows in-checkout eWallet top-ups, with balance viewing soon to follow.

Merchants like Nando’s, US Pizza, Alpro Pharmacy, TK Bakery, and Yoyo Bus, via Fiuu and iPay88, already support Google Pay.

More partners will join, expanding the feature’s reach across Malaysia’s vibrant e-commerce scene.

“As the first market for this integration, Malaysia sets a standard for digital payment innovation in Southeast Asia,” he said.

The feature builds on the nation’s strong eWallet adoption, driven by widespread smartphone use.
