In an inspiring blend of environmental advocacy and community engagement, Blue Cape Marketing (BCM) hosted a heartfelt drawing contest on April 19, 2025, at The LINC KL in conjunction with Earth Day. The event drew around 40 young participants and their families, transforming the Event Space on Level 2 into a lively hub of artistic expression, camaraderie, and purpose.
The contest, aimed at raising funds for Kaizen Children Home, provided an avenue for children aged 7 to 12 to channel their imagination and artistic talents into drawings themed around the environment and sustainability. Their works are now featured in a public exhibition at The LINC KL until April 27, offering visitors a glimpse into the minds of young artists and their interpretations of Earth Day. The timing aligns with the global observance of Earth Day on April 22, adding a powerful message to the initiative.
Spotlight on young champions
The drawing competition was divided into two age-based categories, giving all participants an equal opportunity to shine. In Group A, which featured children aged 7 to 9, Sherbel Yee clinched the Champion title with her standout artwork, while Amelia Wong earned two honours: 2nd Runner-Up and the Creative Visionary Award for her exceptional use of colour and message. Group B, comprising participants aged 10 to 12, saw Wong Zyanne taking the top prize for her vivid and thoughtful piece.
The contest not only celebrated youthful talent but also reinforced values of environmental consciousness and social responsibility. The winners’ artworks are among those now proudly displayed for the public, standing as both personal achievements and contributions to a larger cause.
Driving social impact
The success of the drawing contest was made possible by the support of various sponsors and partners who believe in nurturing young minds and contributing to meaningful causes. Among the key sponsors were HeveaGro, FavoElement, St. Giles Boulevard Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Karihome, AEON Fantasy, MasterPiece Tailor, Jin Xiang, and A&P Event. The LINC KL played a pivotal role as both venue sponsor and champion of youth-driven initiatives.
All proceeds from the event are being channeled directly to Kaizen Children Home, an organisation devoted to the care and development of underprivileged children. By integrating art with activism, the event not only raised essential funds but also raised awareness of environmental issues and the importance of community support.
Members of the public are encouraged to visit The LINC KL before April 27 to view the artwork on display—each piece a testament to youthful creativity and a beacon of hope for a better, more compassionate world.
