SEACare 2025 wraps up with RM1.1 billion in potential sales

SEACare 2025 wrapped up with RM1.1 billion in potential sales, drawing 10,800 visitors and setting the stage for a larger Health Summit Asia 2026.

SEACare 2025, the region’s flagship healthcare, medical and pharmaceutical trade show, concluded on a strong note after a dynamic three-day showcase at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC). The event drew over 10,800 trade visitors and generated potential sales exceeding RM1.1 billion, solidifying its reputation as a key catalyst for healthcare innovation and commercial growth in Southeast Asia.

Spanning 250 booths and representing 130 leading brands from 13 countries, SEACare 2025 provided a vital platform for healthcare stakeholders to engage in high-impact networking, knowledge-sharing and deal-making. This year’s success reaffirmed Malaysia’s strategic positioning as a regional healthcare hub and destination for medical and pharmaceutical excellence.

Driving cross-border collaboration

Organised by Qube Integrated Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., SEACare 2025 benefitted from the support of crucial Malaysian government agencies and industry stakeholders, including the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), the Medical Device Authority (MDA), and SIRIM Berhad. Together, they activated programmes like the International Sourcing Programme (INSP) and Hosted Buyers Programme, which fostered hundreds of business matching opportunities between local companies and international buyers.

“This year’s edition has shown encouraging momentum from the quality of regional participation to the volume of meaningful business conversations and strategic partnerships,” said Richard Teo, Executive Chairman of Qube Integrated Malaysia. “With a growing appetite for collaboration and innovation in healthcare, we are excited to build on this foundation as we look toward curating an even more impactful and inclusive platform in 2026.”

These engagements helped position SEACare not just as a trade event but as a strategic bridge connecting regional buyers and sellers, including those in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, healthtech, and hospital services.

Startups in the spotlight

Among this year’s most noteworthy developments was the launch of the Zafar VC Fund, an initiative in partnership with SEACare’s conference partner, 5 Pillar Ventures. Aimed at energising the regional healthtech and medtech ecosystem, the fund facilitated investor pitch sessions involving eight early-stage startups from across Asia.

While no immediate funding commitments were secured, the programme created over 70 new connections between startups, investors, and mentors—laying the groundwork for future investments and signalling the growing influence of SEACare as a launchpad for innovation.

Health Summit Asia 2026

Capitalising on the event’s momentum, organisers have announced SEACare 2026 will return to MITEC from 28 to 30 April 2026. The next edition is targeting RM1.5 billion in potential sales and aims to host 200 exhibiting companies and 15,000 trade visitors.

In a major development, SEACare 2026 will be part of the inaugural Health Summit Asia 2026, bringing together three major healthcare events under one banner: SEACare, the Scientific Convention and Trade Exhibition (SCATE) by the Malaysian Dental Association, and the International Wellness Expo (IWE) by Green Wellness. This ambitious consolidation is expected to broaden industry engagement and offer deeper specialisation across medical, dental, and wellness segments.

Expanding impact through strategic partnerships

Beyond its commercial and scientific reach, SEACare 2025 also delivered strong social impact, continuing its collaboration with the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) to drive awareness and support for community health initiatives. Other key partners included the Malaysian Pharmacists Society (MPS), Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), International Medical University (IMU), and the German Health Alliance, among others.

International participation was also robust, with trade bodies such as TAITRA (Taiwan) and Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion helping foster cross-border engagement. SEACare’s alignment with the Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) and PERANTIM also reinforced the event’s stature within the national healthcare agenda.

As planning begins for SEACare 2026 and the broader Health Summit Asia initiative, organisers are optimistic that the event will continue to drive innovation, deepen regional ties, and strengthen Malaysia’s position on the global healthcare map.
