UPSI Grand Breaking Fast Ceremony reflects unity and shared success

UPSI celebrates unity and compassion at Ramadan event, highlighting community support and shared efforts behind its rise to 101st global ranking.

Strong collaboration among the entire community of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) has been identified as the main factor behind the university’s continued achievements, highlighted during the institution’s Grand Breaking of Fast Ceremony held recently.

The event, organised at Masjid Al-Mursyidin on UPSI’s Sultan Azlan Shah Campus, brought together administrators, lecturers, staff, students, alumni and members of the surrounding community in a gathering that reflected both spiritual reflection and institutional solidarity during the holy month of Ramadan.

UPSI Board of Directors chairman Abdul Puhat Mat Nayan expressed appreciation to the university community for their dedication and collective efforts, which he said had enabled UPSI to achieve significant milestones.

“This outstanding performance is the result of your cooperation as members of the UPSI family,” he said during his address.

He emphasised that institutional success could not be attributed to individuals alone but instead depended on sustained commitment from every level within the university.

According to him, administrators, management personnel, lecturers and support staff all play critical roles in ensuring the university continues to progress and maintain its reputation.

“Such efforts must be undertaken by everyone. Cooperation is extremely important for the future of our children,” he added.

Meanwhile, UPSI Vice-Chancellor Md Amin Md Taff noted that the annual breaking of fast gathering serves as an important platform to strengthen relationships within the wider UPSI ecosystem.

“The ultimate goal of holding this program each year is to foster stronger ties between UPSI, alumni, students, the surrounding community, and all university stakeholders,” he said.

The ceremony also reflected the university’s emphasis on unity, compassion and social responsibility, particularly during Ramadan, when acts of charity and community support are strongly encouraged.

Md Amin also took the opportunity to express gratitude for UPSI’s growing international recognition, highlighting the university’s recent global ranking achievement.

“Alhamdulillah, today we are ranked 101st in the world. This is the result of the efforts and support of all of us,” he said, crediting the milestone to the prayers, dedication and sacrifices of the entire UPSI community.

The gathering concluded with the breaking of fast and congregational prayers, marking a meaningful moment of reflection and unity for the UPSI community.
