YOTEL Kuala Lumpur is on track to open around the end of 2026 at 82, Jalan Raja Chulan. The former Menara MIDF building will have about 290 rooms and be the first YOTEL in Malaysia, Bernama reported. We first covered the plan when the debut was set for 2025.
The project reached its topping-out stage on 29 May. It combines the hotel with a medical centre in one 23-storey building. The Edge Malaysia puts the cost at RM200 million.
Overall, here is what is known about the building, the opening date and what guests can expect.
The building and the owners

The tower stands in the Golden Triangle, near the Raja Chulan Monorail station and the Bukit Bintang MRT. The conversion of Menara MIDF began in July 2025. A topping-out and groundbreaking ceremony on 29 May marked the structural completion of the hotel.
JD Hospitality Sdn Bhd owns the project. It is a subsidiary of Singapore-based MES Group. High Street Holdings is the development partner, and Sunray Construction and Interior is the main contractor.
JD Hospitality founder and chief executive officer Mohamed Abdul Jaleel called the project the group’s most significant overseas investment. The group entered the Malaysian market in 2019. Sunray’s managing director said the conversion started on 17 July last year.
Moreover, the project is an example of an older office tower finding a new use. Menara MIDF was an office building before the conversion. As a result, the hotel will sit in a central spot with little new land needed.
Opening date and the medical centre

The project is targeted for completion in November 2026. The Edge Malaysia reports that the hotel and the medical centre will share the building. Another Edge feature says the hotel is expected to be operating by December 2026.
Meanwhile, the medical centre takes up seven levels. It is targeted for completion by June 2027. The reports did not name the medical centre or its operator.
However, both dates are targets, not confirmed opening dates. A hotel usually needs time between completion and its first guests. Therefore, bookings may open closer to the date.
The reports did not give a star rating for the hotel. They also did not name an operator. Still, the YOTEL brand is known for compact, tech-led rooms.
What guests can expect

The hotel is expected to offer a rooftop pool and bar, a fitness centre and flexible dining. It will also have co-working spaces and social areas. Bernama describes the facilities as premium lifestyle and wellness offerings.
The location suits business travellers and short city stays. The Raja Chulan Monorail station and the Bukit Bintang MRT are both close by. In addition, the Golden Triangle has many offices, malls and restaurants within reach.
Hotel supply keeps growing across the country. For example, Courtyard by Marriott Penang is also due to open in December. Likewise, Opus Bay Batam is due to open that month.
In short, YOTEL Kuala Lumpur is close to its first guests, but the opening date remains a target. Watch for the operator’s booking announcement and for news on the medical centre.
