Eddy Choong: The badminton legend

Dato’ Eddy Choong has a lot of words of wisdom to share.  With his strings of champion titles in the All-England, Thomas Cup and more, this gentleman knows a lot about badminton.
He said he has invested his own money into building badminton courts in Penang so that the younger generation has a place to play.  He claimed that Misbun Sidek had trained under him.  He also said Lee Chong Wei is one of the champions benefited by the facilities. 
CJ Lilian met Dato’ Eddy Choong during a Penang State Government event for Nicol David and Dato’ Lee Chong Wei on 23 March, 2010.  Subsequently, she visited Dato’ Eddy Choong at his office to take some old photos, just four days before the Thomas Cup 2010.
Eddy Choong revealed some matters related to officials meddling with coaches and how Malaysia can move forward in the sports

He will be celebrating his 80th birthday at the end of May 2010 with the launch of a book about his life.
