Johor DAP recorded an unprecedented show of support from the people in Johor Bahru during its fund raising dinner which was held here, recently.
CJMY was made to understand that the huge turnout of some 3200 supporters and well wishers came not only for the dining but specifically to listen to DAP’s state and national leaders who were scheduled to speak at the dinner that evening including Penang chief minister, Lim Guan Eng.
DAP’s state leaders who spoke on that evening include Tan Hong Pin, the state organizing secretary, followed by Andrew Chen, DAPSY committee member whereas the national leader speakers were Liew Chin Tong, member of parliament for Bukit Bendera, Dr. Hew Kuan Yau, the ‘superman’, Tony Pua, member of parliament for Petaling Jaya Utara and Penang chief minister, Lim Guan Eng.
MP Liew Chin Tong told the crowd that Pakatan needs to win at least a third of the total parliamentary seats in the state of Johor, Sabah and Sarawak to see a change in the federal government.
He urged Johoreans to catch up with the wind of change and to create history by voting at least a third of the Johor Pakatan candidates to parliament in the forthcoming 13GE.
Dr. Hew Kuan Yau aka Superman had the crowd in stitches when he came up with his ever popular satirical speech in targeting his political opponents namely, BN national leaders, who have committed major political follies.
MP Tony Pua was next to speak where he went on to elaborate on the issues that are related to the cowgate financial scandal which he said has yet to be resolved satisfactorily.
Meanwhile, CJMY was told by a committee member that Penang chief minister, Lim Guan Eng and the Johor DAP chief, Dr. Boo Cheng Hau will be arriving shortly as both of them were rushing down from another dinner function in Yong Peng, Johor.
Later, when the emcee announce the arrival of Lim Guan Eng, the crowd cheered and greeted his arrival with a standing ovation and continuous applause.
He started off by saying that this is first time that he in on a 360 degree stage.
The four states under the Pakatan administration, he said, were much more better managed and successful than the rest of the BN managed states in the country.
Lim urged the people of Johor to support Pakatan for a better future.
