Johor Bahru Red Crescent raise funds at New Year luncheon

450 senior citizens, orphans and physically challenged persons from 22 welfare homes were given a New Year luncheon treat with entertainment jointly organised by the Johor Bahru Red Crescent Society and Hotel Gand Paragon Johor Bahru recently.

450 senior citizens, orphans and physically challenged persons from 22 welfare homes were given a New Year luncheon treat with entertainment jointly organised by the Johor Bahru Red Crescent Society and Hotel Gand Paragon Johor Bahru recently.

The Guest of Honour was YB Hoo Seong Chang who commented that this event was meaningful and the beneficiaries were from different races, religion and cultural background.

Several donors pledged contributions in the midst of the gathering.

These donors included YB Hoo with a RM10,000 pledge, Wong Lan Chee pledged RM20,000, YB Datok Adam Bin Sumira and Dato’ Chen Kim Hock made a RM5,000 contribution each.

The Johor Bahru Red Crescent Society contributed RM30,000 to the Thailand Flood Fund.
