The irresponsible attitude of some cattle farmers who let their animals roam freely is threatening the safety of motorists along Jalan Kuala Terengganu-Kuantan near Rhu Muda.

According to local residents, the situation had caused several fatal road accidents especially involving motorcyclists apart from being a nuisance by spattering the area with dung.

A resident, Nor Suraya Salleh ,25, said the presence of cows and buffaloes belonging to residents living near the road, had created problems and exasperation among road users.

Meanwhile, Marang District Council president Zulkifli Ali, when contacted, said the council would round up all unattended animals immediately.

“We will continue the operation until the farmers learn to fence up their animals from endangering motorists and from becoming a nuisance to people,” he said.
