Policeman’s missing pistol found after seven years

A policeman’s pistol reported missing in Johor was found in Georgetown, seven years later.

A policeman’s pistol reported missing in Johor was found in Georgetown, seven years later.

North East District Police chief ACP Gan Kong Meng said yesterday the gun was found on Saturday at a restaurant in Taman Fettes where a shooting took place at 3.30 pm.

The weapon was reported missing in Pekan Nenas, Johor.

He said police found the pistol, a live bullet and four empty shells at the restaurant where a man who was having a meal was shot at thrice by a gunman.

The man was unhurt as all the shots missed him.

The gunman dropped the pistol and fled in a car driven by an accomplice, he said, adding that police were looking for a 27-year-old man to help in the investigation, both into the missing pistol and the shooting.

Missing boy

Gan also said that police were searching for a seven-year-old boy, R. Dass, who was reported missing at the foot of the Rifle Range Flats, Tuesday.

“We seek the cooperation of the public in contacting any police station should they come across the boy,” he said.

The boy’s mother, Kasturi Arjunan, 33, had lodged a police report that Dass did not return with his three siblings after they went to play at the foot of the flats.

Kasturi, who has five children, appealed to people who may have seen her son to contact her at 014-3089972 or any police station.
