It was a warm and fuzzy time at Jaya One last weekend as pet owners and their fur kids thronged the commercial hub for a festive pet event.
The Santa Paws Christmas event on December 11, 2011, organised by SPCA Selangor and Jaya One, was in aid of the SPCA and helped raise close to RM2,000 from the day’s activities and sales.
More than 120 dogs of all breeds and sizes had a barking good time as they socialised with other canines, where some had off-leash fun running around in the dog playpen, while their owners mingled around or shopped at the various booths.
Santa Clause and his doggie angels Cordelia and Annie proved to be the centre of attraction as the visitors lined up at the iArt photo booth to have their pictures taken with them against a Christmas backdrop.
Meanwhile, those who needed a break from the festive fun adjourned with their pets to pet-friendly F&B outlets Frontera, Gemini Florist & Café, Chili Rush, and Alt.space for drinks and al fresco dining.
“Jaya One has always been a pet-friendly place and the Santa Paws event was a chance for the local community to meet up and have some Christmas fun while contributing to a good cause,” said Charles Wong, Executive Director of Tetap Tiara Sdn Bhd.
“We are pleased to collaborate with the SPCA on this event and look forward to working with them further on future projects,” he added.
Jaya One will be holding the “Lovers & Leashes” pet event on Valentine’s Day in February 2012, which will feature a doggy disco for pets and their owners to hang out at.
