One hundred traders operating at the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) complex have obtained an injunction from the High Court to restrain PKNS from going ahead with a proposal to increase their rent next year.
Their counsel, Kamarudin Ahmad, told reporters here today that Judicial Commissioner Ahmad Zaki Husin granted the order on Tuesday.
He said Ahmad Zaki had further ordered PKNS not to pester or obstruct the traders from carrying out their business at the complex.
The order also prevents PKNS from going ahead with its proposed action to clear the premises of traders while awaiting the outcome of an inter-parte application set for Jan 4, 2012, he disclosed.
The PKNS complex traders association, represented by its head Amran Yahya, filed the injunction application on Dec 6 to stop the proposed rate increase of between 70 per cent and 100 per cent, and named PKNS as the sole defendant.
