VijayakonePKR central committee member, Dr Tan Yee Kew questioned the rationale of privatising Maju Expressway and said BN government owes an explanation to the people.
Earlier, Dr Tan addressed some 150 members of Chinese business community at Taman Seroja Parit Jawa, Muar.
“Why on earth should the government privatise this project. Why is it so expensive to build this highway,” asked Dr Tan.
Dr Tan was formerly the MCA women’s deputy chief and parliamentary secretary for the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, before joining PKR in 2008.
