Over 1,000 attend Sultan of Kelantan’s birthday parade

Over 1,000 people attended a parade in conjunction with Sultan Muhammad V of Kelantan’s 42nd birthday. Tomorrow is a state public holiday.

Over 1,000 people attended a parade here in conjunction with Sultan Muhammad V of Kelantan’s 42nd birthday, the first to be held since his ascension to the throne on Sept 13 last year.

The parade, led by the First Royal Artillery Regiment, began at 8.40am shortly after the arrival of His Royal Highness and members of the Kelantan Royal Court.

Present were the Crown Prince of Kelantan Tengku Muhammad Faiz Petra, Menteri Besar Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, Deputy Menteri Datuk Ahmad Yakob, state executive council members and senior government officers.

Donning a Baju Melayu, the monarch then inspected the guard-of-honour mounted by the regiment.

Sultan Muhammad V will present state awards in an investiture ceremony at Istana Balai Besar, tomorrow.

Tomorrow is a state public holiday in conjunction with his birthday.
