In line with efforts to keep the public informed on the progress of the nation’s MY Rapid Transit Project, MRT Corporation has launched two Information Kiosks at two key Klang Valley locations.

These Kiosks, located in Kajang and Mutiara Damansara are part of a broader public engagement campaign which will involve road shows as well as permanent Information Centres.

In conjunction with the opening of these Kiosks, a new Toll Free Hotline: 1800-82-6868 is now operational.

CEO of MRT Corp, Azhar Abdul Hamid said, “We are committed to providing a continuous flow of information on the progress of this project and hope that these conveniently located Kiosks will give people access to project updates as well as an idea of how the MRT
will enhance their daily lives.”

Additionally, Mobile Trucks are scheduled to begin their routes Mid- December bringing information closer to those interested in the project but are unable to travel to the nearest Information Centre or Kiosk.

“If people are unable to visit our information centers or have missed our open days, then we will send mobile trucks to their area. As I have stressed before, we welcome public feedback and want to provide multiple platforms for people to access comprehensive and up to date information on the project.” Azhar added.
The MRT project website www.kvmrt.com.my, which contains current project information is being continuously enhanced and will introduce new features such as a mailing list for members of the public to receive e-mail updates as they are posted.

The public is encouraged to take an interest in the MRT project and to visit the two newly launched Information Kiosks during this one month period, after which there are plans to relocate the Kiosks to other key locations for public display. Plans are currently in place to open four other kiosks by the end of November.

The MRT project is a key enabler in achieving the nation’s Greater KL goal and propelling Kuala Lumpur into the top 20 most livable and economically vibrant cities in the world by 2020.

The launch of these Kiosks in combination with other modes of information dissemination signifies MRT Corporation’s intention to prioritise the public throughout the implementation of Malaysia’s largest public infrastructure project.

Information Kiosks are now open from 1- 30 November 2011 at the following locations.
