Photo blog: Arulmigu Sithivinayar, a temple of fine art

The temple has remained an integral part in everyday life for the Hindu community. Most temples are built with purpose and much precision, building on philosophies dating back some 5,000 years.

Aesthetics are given a priority, as Hinduism and art have, for aeons, walked hand-in-hand.

Known as Taman Molek’s Vinayagar temple to locals, the Arulmigu Sithivinayar Kovil in Johor Jaya, Johor has five tiers of “Ghopuram” and 16 forms of Ganesha “murthies” made of pure marble.

Unlike other temples in which are usually found many deities, this temple is presided only by Lord Vinayagar.
