The thrill of competitive talk

The Toastmasters club is doing a great job at building the potential in people.

The Toastmasters District 51 Humorous Speech Contest 2011 was held in Malacca recently. Almost 200 people were entertained with jaw-dropping and interesting topics ranging from ‘I am a coward’ to ‘I did it my way’.

Contestant Moganraj Asokan from Johor Bahru said that this was his first District level contest after winning contests at his Club, Area and Division levels.

The experience of growing from being gun-shy to confident is immeasurable and Moganraj believes that the Toastmasters club is doing a great job at building the potential in people.

He joined Toastmasters about a year ago and has gained effective communication and leadership skills from it.

The champion of this contest was Stephan Fernando; first runner-up, Lee Xi Wen; and, second runner-up, Ivan Cheng.
