Hawkers crash Penang Local Democracy event

GEORGE TOWN – The hawkers claimed that they were denied licenses to ply their trade and insist that Chow address their problems.

Penang state executive councillor, Chow Kon Yeow, gave an opening speech at the Penang Esplanade, speaker’s square to launch
the Local Democracy Festival.

As soon as he ended his speech, a group of self proclaimed hawkers created a commotion, demanding that Chow speak to them.

They claimed that they were denied licenses to ply their trade and insist that Chow address their problems.
