Mandarin debating tournament to be hosted in Johor Bahru

This is the first time that the educational institutions from Malaysia and Singapore will gather in Johor Bahru for the tournanment.

16 Higher Institution from Malaysia and Singapore will participate in the 7th Malaysia & Singapore Higher Institution Mandarin Debate Tournament at Southern College. This competition is jointly organize by the Johor Bahru Tiong-Hua Association and Southern College.

The meeting of minds will commence between the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanayang Technology University (NTU) of Singapore and University Malaya (UM), University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), University Sains Malaysia (USM), University Technology Malaysia (UTM), Universuty Tun Hussein Onn (UTHO), University Tenaga Malaysia ( UTN), University Perguruan Sultan Idris, University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Multimedia University (MMU), Help University, University Utara Malaysia (UUM),New Era College and Southern College from Malaysia.

The 3-day debate competition will begin on  21 October and the Deputy Minister of Higher Institution, Dato’ Dr. Hou Kok Chong will be expected to come for the closing and prize giving ceremony at 5pm on 23 October at Southern College Main Lecture Hall.

This is the first time that the educational institutions from Malaysia and Singapore will gather in Johor Bahru for the tournanment.
