An auxiliary policeman attached to Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTMB) was detained by the police for illegal possession
of a fake pistol in Jalan Segambut, three days ago.
The fake firearm and magazine was found in his car which was parked outside an entertainment centre where the suspect, in his 20s, was picked up.
Sentul police chief Assistant Commissioner Zakaria Pagan said yesterday, the man was remanded until tomorrow.
He said the suspect was picked up by a group of policemen during a raid at the centre where he was allegedly spotted dropping a bullet while attempting to get away.
A .38 revolver and 10 rounds of ammunition were also seized from the auxiliary policeman, he told reporters after launching a community policing operations centre at Dataran Pangsamurni Titiwangsa, Keramat Jaya 2 yesterday.
On community policing, Zakaria said the centre would serve as a place where residents could provide information to the police on criminal activities.
The centre was set up at the initiative of local residents after several criminal cases were reported in the area, including a case involving the death of an actress’ son after falling from the seventh floor of an apartment while
chasing a burglar, about two years ago.
