Activist and two villagers arrested in Cameron Highlands

Three protestors, an activist and two villagers, have been arrested at noon today near Sungai Palas, Cameron Highlands.

Three protestors, an activist and two villagers, were arrested at noon today near Sungai Palas, Cameron Highlands.

The arrested trio are, Suresh Kumar of Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM), brothers S Nagarajan, 34, and S Thanabalan, 35.

According to the villagers of Kampung Sungai Palas, the villagers and the activist were arrested in connection with a protest against a hillside development project.

Some villagers and activists from Suara Rakyat Malaysia (Suaram) and members of Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) were seen gathered outside the Brinchang police headquarters with placards, demanding the release of their the three.
