The Malaysian Retirees Association has asked the government to consider providing the cost of living allowance (Cola) to
retirees to help lighten their burden in the wake of the spiraling prices of goods.

retirees to help lighten their burden in the wake of the spiraling prices of goods.

The president of the association Raja Wan Mahmood Pawan Teh said this was among the matters pursued by the association to assist retirees.

“Discussions is still going on,” he said at the opening of the association’s 24th Annual Delegates Conference by the Sultan of Kedah Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah at Langkawi Sports Complex last night.

The discussion was “positive,” he said. A total of 430 delegates and observers attended the conference. The
assciation has 30,000 members.

He said the association was grateful to the government on the approval of several applications which showed that the government cared for the lower income group.
