Selangor Sultan to make statement on Jais church probe

The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, will make a statement over the issue of the Selangor Islamic
Religious Department (Jais) checking on the Damansara Utama Methodist Church last month.

Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said the Sultan had consented to give his views and advice over the issue in two or three days’ time, when he had an audience with the Sultan this morning.

“The state government will abide by the advice and solution put forward by His Majesty as the head of religion in the state,” he told a news conference after chairing a state executive council meeting, here, today.

“The Sultan consented to make the statement soon to avoid too many people debating on the issue,” he said.
