said Zulkifly M. Ismail, the oil giant’s general manager for the eastern region.

He said the company and the Malaysian Nature Society carried out a joint study on turtle landings in Terengganu last year and that it showed the complex was not adversely affecting flora and fauna in the area.

“The study also showed turtle are still landing at Ma’Daerah in Kertih where expansion of the complex is taking place,” he told reporters when met an Aidifitri open house hosted by the company, government agencies and media organisations yesterday.

He added that the company was also collaborating with various agencies and organisations to ensure environmental conservation around the complex.
