A rubber tapper was struck dead by lightning while taking shelter at a floating shed near a fish cage during a storm in
Kampung Batangan on friday.
He was identified as Mohd Farizuddin Adnan, 27. In the 6.30pm incident, the deceased and his cousin, Muhammad Hairi Syahiddin Mohd, 18, were taking shelter at the shed while using a fishing net when lightning struck.
“Within seconds, I saw Mohd Farizuddin on fire. He died on the way to a clinic,” said Muhammad Hairi when met at his house yesterday.
Several houses were damaged during the storm.
