An elderly man was found dead, believed to have been murdered, in his house in Jalan Tun Dr Ismail yesterday.
Negeri Sembilan CID chief ACP Hamdan Abdul Majid said that Lai Chun, 77, who lived alone, was found lying on the floor in a room of the house by his sister-in-law at about noon.
“The woman, in her 60s, came to the house to give him food. After not getting any reply when she called out to him, she went into the house and saw him dead,” he said.
He said that Lai never married and had been living alone in the wooden house since a few years ago.
Initial investigations found that the victim suffered serious head injuries believed to have been caused by a blunt object.
Hamdan said the body was sent to the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital.
