Chloe Chen Tien Nee from Kuala Lumpur, a business graduate of University of Nottingham, beat a gorgeous line-up of 25 finalists from across the country to capture the Miss Malaysia World 2011 crown on Saturday 20th August at the Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre in Petaling Jaya.
Chloe reacted with shock and surprise when her name was anounced. She won RM200,000 in cash, this being the biggest cash prize offered by the pageant this year.
“I will do my best in London to win the crown for Malaysia,” said the 175 cm tall beauty queen who is of French-Chinese parentage, speak four languages including French and Spanish and hopes to own an animal farm one day.
She will represent Malaysia to compete on the world stage at the Miss World Finals on 6th November 2011 in London.
Chloe picked a question from a paper bag during the Q & A session: “If you could choose to be remembered throughout time for one, only one thing, what would that be?”
Her calmly answered “Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, If I could choose one thing to be remembered by, I think I want to be remembered for having a big heart. My reason being, kind-heartedness and compassion are two values which are gift to me and the most important of all in my opinion.”
“Do you have a big heart? “
She smiled and asserted: “Of course I do.”
And in the second and final round of the Q & A segment for the “Top Five” finalists selected before the crowning, Chloe was asked: “Why should you be chosen as the next Miss Malaysia World?
Without batting an eyelid she confidently said, “I think I should become Miss Malaysia World 2011 because I believe that I have the passion and the ability to make a difference in society. I am also responsible and I am committed and if I were given this privilege I would carry out my duty as Miss Malaysia World 2011 to the best of my ability. I am also a great listener and I think that to be the voice for the less fortunate, you have to first listen to them.”
The audience applauded enthusiastically for her.Pamela Tan Mei Yun, 23, from Malaca and an English Language graduate and a taekwando black belt holder won RM10,000 cash as first runner-up; while Chua Yee See, 25, from Pahang and a Monash University science graduate won RM5,000 cash for third place.
Chua also won a subsidiary title of Miss Beauty With A Heart.All the 25 contestants with the most beautiful figures flaunted Islamic fashion collection by Raja Rezza Shah, leisure active wear, batik evening gowns by Aaron Von Jolly and Q & A skills to impress the panel of judges.
The audience and guests were aslo treated to entertainment, including dance performances by children and a young sensation from the Philippines, Clark Gamul who sang two songs, “Ben” and “We are the World”.Six of the 25 women who competed in the finals were also awarded subsidiary titles which carry a RM1,000 cash each.

Guest of honour at the glittering event was Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister, senator Heng Seai Kie. Among the notable guests and celebrities present were Universal Peace Federation Malaysia president Tan Sri Dr Devaki Krishnan; fashion designer Professor Jimmy Choo; Miss Malaysia World advisor and Miss Malaysia Universe 1973 Maggie Loo; journalist Kee Hua Chee, Miss Malaysia World 2010 Nadia Heng Min Dern; Miss Malaysia World honorary advisor Paul Lee; and fashion designer Keith Kee.
The distinguished panel of judges comprised recording artiste, performer and restaurateur Khadijah Ibrahim,; Islamic Fashion Festival (IFF) founder and chairman Raja Rezza Shah; Malaysian Official Designers Association (MODA) president Gillian Hung; A Cut Above founder and hair designer Winnie Loo; fashion designer Carven Ong and Miss Malaysia World 2009 Thanuja Ananthan.
The core objective of the pageant is to help raise funds for children’s charities in Malaysia.
