The body of a Korean youth, who was believed to have drowned while surfing at Pantai Tanjung Simpang Mengayau, Kudat
last Friday, was found about 8.30am today.
A statement issued by the Sabah and Labuan Region Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) today, said the body was sent to Kudat Hospital for post-mortem.
It said the victim, aged 18, who was surfing with a friend, drowned when hit by strong wave.
A search and rescue team, involving the Kudat District Fire and Rescue Department, the Marine Operations Force and local residents, was mounted after a report was lodged.
