On May 12, a dance competition, Dance of the Kingz was held at the KSL Shopping Mall in JB which attracted a number of participants and had exhibited various dance styles, succeeded in trying to encourage youths to compete in a healthy atmosphere.
This event was organised by Freedom Dance Studio of KL and one of the directors, WC Siong told Citizen Journalists Malaysia (CJMY) that they have been organising the Clash of the Kingz competition in various cities around the country like Kuching, Melaka, Penang and Kuala Lumpur to great success.
He feels that this is a good opportunity for youths of Malaysia to express themselves and showcase their talents by participating.
The winner of Street Dance group was the Pop Diva comprising Joeric, the group leader, Kars, Fioncy, and Nonnie.
They had practised and performed together for last 5 years and had won numerous prizes.
Competitions like this are beneficial as it challenges a dancer or a group to showcase their act the best they can, after hours of practise, and encourage the spirit of healthy competition and it also allow the participants to mingle and get to know each other thus creating a fraternity that can strive to activate cultural activities in their locality.
