‘Entertainment’ winds down in Perlis

All entertainment centres in the state show cooperation with the local authorities as Muslims begin the fasting month.

Perlis Mufti, Dr Juanda Jaya, said that “Operasi Pusat Hiburan Bulan Ramadan” is being carried out at entertainment centres in the surrounding areas of Kangar and Kuala Perlis.

He noted that Muslim operators of have curbed the opening hours of their businesses while non-Muslims have put up notices that Muslims are not permitted to patronise the outlets.

“I am satisfied and hope that this positive development will be observed the entire month of Ramadan,” said Dr Juanda.

He also said that the authorities will carry out another round of the operations in the middle of the month.

Local authorities are hoping to encourage the Muslims in the state to observe and respect the month of Ramadan.
